COVID - 19 Updates

COVID -19 Update 25 June 2020 We continue to safely offer ALL dental services despite the recent spike in coronavirus in Victoria. We would like to reassure you that we are maintaining our high infection control standards, and that our dental practice remains one of the most hygienic and safe places you can be. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) does NOT consider patients and dental staff to be ‘close contacts’ due to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the dental practice. It is safe to come to the dentist. At Dobson Dental we continue to take the Coronavirus Pandemic very seriously. We have ongoing additional measures to ensure that our staff and patients’ safety is protected. In accordance with recent guidelines provided by the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) we are continuing with current protocols as outlined below. What we are doing to reduce risk: • Extending appointment times to allow for extra cleaning between patients across the whole practice - this will also reduce the number of people in the building at any one time • Pre-screening of patients over the phone for covid-19 risk factors and symptoms • Upon attending the clinic, you will be asked to use alcohol hand gel, then in the treating room wash your hands with soap and water • We have removed all magazines, books and toys to prevent cross contamination • Patients will be required to rinse with hydrogen peroxide mouthwash immediately prior to treatment to reduce any potential viral load in the saliva What we need from you: • Please inform us if you have recently returned from overseas – we will reschedule your visit • Monitor your health and advise us over the phone if you are feeling unwell – we cannot and will not treat patients infected with Covid-19, or at any risk of infection with Covid-19. • Please use cards for payment wherever possible to reduce cross contamination from bank notes • Please consider if it is possible you could be a COVID-19 carrier, as asymptomatic carriers exist in the community. If you think you could possibly be one of these, please reschedule your appointment, and call the CORONAVIRIS HOTLINE on 1800 675 398 Keep smiling and look after one another. Please contact us for any questions or concerns, or to reschedule an appointment. 03 9758 5641
